"Happy on Humpday"

Wednesday(Hump Day) of the last week of school before Winter break is really a "Happy" all by itself but today was even better than normal!

When I went to lunch I was told I had flowers.  I NEVER get flowers so I was so excited.  When I read the card I wanted to cry.  My friend Christine is so wonderful.  She is my workout buddy. (We've been slacking as of late hint hint Christine!!)  I was blessed to have her as Haley's 2nd & 3rd grade teacher as well as my co-worker for so many years!  She is the type of friend you can talk and trust with anything.  She has a special place in my heart. 

It is hard to see in the picture but the flowers are in the cutest ornament container with a lid.  I will be able to use it every year!


 When I went down stairs to get my baked potato.  I had another sweet surprise.  I was given the best hugs and kisses from my sweet niece Izzie.  She waved from the window and blew me kisses as she was leaving.  I love that sweet girl!

Sonja's husband Kevin went to Paint-a-piece for me and picked up our 16 boxes of very breakable ornaments for our 2nd grade parents.  When I got back to my room from lunch I opened the box and found my Haleybug's ornament.  I can't believe how good they turned out.  I was so happy with them and love it so much.  I am so happy to have this keepsake of Haley's last year at school with me.

After dropping Hunter off at basketball I enjoyed a nice quiet dinner with my wonderful hubby.  We don't ever get to go out to eat just the two of us so we soaked up every minute.  We put our phones on silent(we didn't turn them off because our kids were not with us and they know they can always reach one of us) and enjoyed each others company. 


When I thought my day couldn't get any better I got to hold my little Hannah Grace during church.  She played making a pooting noise with her mouth and saying "I pooted" then laughing because Hunter was laughing so hard.   I had to tell him to quit or go out for a minute.   She then proceeded to stand(yes stand) in my lap saying "see Cheeto" pointing to my brother who was at the time preaching a devotional to the congregation.  He did a great job despite the happy little distraction.

The part that made me swell up with tears was when Hannah said to me "no Ziggy I want to stand".  I am so thankful for this little girl and the strides she has made.  In her 3 little years of life she has taught me the power of prayer and that God truly has a plan for everyone.  It may not be the plan we have or what we want but he knows what we need and always provides.  I can't thank him enough for all of the blessings I have in my life!

Thursday night 5th grade had their holiday music program.

Haley was so sweet.  She said her stomach had butterflies.  She was very focused during the program.  She loves music and singing.  I am so proud of her.

Friday
Friday was the best day I've had in a long time!  It started with a field trip to Elmwood Cemetery with Haley's 5th grade class.

After the play Rob and I headed to lunch at Logan's Roadhouse.  Where I got my favorite wings.  They have the best garlic parmesan wings.

But he didn't get to sleep long because Hunter had a basketball game at 4:30.

Saturday
Today brought the stomach bug to our house.  Haley got up early this morning very sick.  She was only sick once and has felt good the rest of the day.  Rob called and was on his way home from hunting due to the same stomach bug.  While I am VERY sad they are sick, it was nice to sit around the house all day.  I finished teacher gifts, wrapping presents, doing laundry, and some online shopping.  I am hoping the virus will stay away from Hunter since he has been at basketball practice and hanging out with Beau.  I hate seeing my family sick.

I think Sunday will be a lay around the house day too.

Emotional Weekend

This weekend was Hunter's end of the year football banquet for AYS & the All Star game.

Friday night we had the AYS Banquet at Woodland Hills.  It was the 2nd year it was there.  It's so weird to think that 20 years ago Rob and I attended prom in that same banquet hall.   This was a celebration of the football season but was sad for us because we have to move on from AYS.

We finished our season 8-2.  We did not win the championship but Hunter learned so many important life lessons this season.  Coach Scott is a great coach.  He taught Hunter perseverance through his own triumph this season, dedication, and determination.  His son played on the bantam team with Jonah & Carter.  He did not have a kid on the junior team but volunteered to coach our boys anyway.  He did so much more than volunteer.  He is very organized, dedicated & motivated to win!  It is very obvious he loves the game of football and his players.  We appreciate all Coach Scott did for Hunter and the Arlington Tigers.

We enjoyed the banquet and were so proud of Hunter.  We were told that nobody has every been given more than one award.  We are so thankful for the instruction he was given in his 3 years with AYS.

Hunter and Logan were so upset that football is over.  This is how I found them sitting.  They weren't even talking.

This weekend was bittersweet.  We were so proud of Hunter and the rest of the Arlington Tigers but sad that our time with AYS is over.   We feel very blessed that we have made some great lifelong friendships.  We love the Tigers!!
