Hunter"s Draft Day, Party & Signing Trip to Denver

Draft Day is not an easy day. We were told Hunter would probably go late in the first round or early second round. Well that came and went. We were then told it looked like he would be late 2nd early 3rd. Then nothing. Watching Hunter watch the draft and wait was painful. The entire time we continued to pray for the perfect fit for him and the best opportunity for his career. He finally got a call that the Rockies wanted him. He was excited. He didn't care about where he went or what number he was drafted, he just wants to play baseball. After he got the call, he found out the Rockies have an amazing catcher development coach. Things simply fell into place. God answered so many prayers and he is one step closer to living his dream. We continue to pray that God uses him to do big things through baseball.

With the uncertainty of rounds, we decided that actual draft day we would only have family over. Well we have a pretty big family so it was like a small party.

Day 1

Day 2 - This was the day he was drafted. We had a lot of food and outdoor fun while we waited.

The call from the Rockies welcoming him to the club!

We tired Bella and Yadi out!

Anytime Hunter or Sydney went outside, Yadi had to make sure they were ok.
If they left he made sure I was protected. He's just a big lapdog.
New hats to celebrate our new team.

This picture is awesome! Hunter has ALWAYS loved the game and wanted to play.

PARTY DAY - We had so much fun celebrating Hunter with our friends and family.

I am so thankful Allie came down for the week. Haley, Allie and Sydney were a huge help getting all the parties set up.  Love my girls!

The tent we bought served its purpose then was destroyed by a thunderstorm on Sunday.

Monday morning was time to head to Denver. Leaving was not easy.

We arrived in Denver on Monday. We stayed at the Maven Hotel a few blocks from the field.

This Airstream was in the lobby for drinks.

Tuesday morning Hunter had to go to have physical so Rob and I ventured out and found the Denver Biscuit Company. It was amazing!!

We attended a Rockies game on Tuesday night. We went in through a private entrance.

Wednesday was signing day. We headed to Coors Field.

When we got to the suite they had labeled bags for all the boys.

Meeting the GM

These are the things that were in Hunt's bag.

Thursday morning we had to take Hunter to the airport to catch a plane to Scottsdale. Tears may have been shed.

Our flight wasn't until later Thursday night(ended up being cancelled and having to fly back Friday) so Rob and I decided to have lunch with one of my oldest friends and go for a drive to some of God's beautiful creations.

Hunter sent us these pictures from when he arrived in Scottsdale.

This has been an amazing experience and we are very excited for Hunter & his future!
