Fall Break Fun & Hunter's 14th Birthday

We headed to Gatlinburg for a few days during fall break. 

Our cabin had a pool table & the kids loved learning how to play. Now if I can talk Rob into getting one for the house.  =)

Aunt Joan & Aunt Wanda taught the kids to play dominos.  They are very willing to learn new games when you don't have internet & your phone only works on the porch.

We had our own friendly(ha) game of dominos.

 Tuesday was Hunter's 14th birthday.  We started the morning off with cookie cake for breakfast.

While the guys were zipping the rest of us went shopping on the strip in Gatlinburg.

When the guys were finished we met them at Bubba Gumps Shrimp Co. for dinner.   Where I actually tried stuffed shrimp with crab meat.  It was so good! 

 They didn't just sing Happy Birthday.  They took Hunter to the center of the room & did a song/rap to happy birthday & had him dance for his dessert.

On Wednesday we were going to drive through Cade's Cove to see the bears and hike to a waterfall.  Unfortunately our president had closed all the state & national parks.  But we decided he would NOT ruin our good time.  We went to Ober to see the slopes in the fall & the beautiful sites. 

I love my momma & daddy.  They are the most loving generous people I know.

After the mountain we went to play Hill Billy Golf.  We had to ride a tram up the hill.  It was a lot of fun.  

We went back to the cabin to cookout hamburgers.  As always Rob did an awesome job making yummy burgers.

On Thursday Rob, Hunter, & I came home & Haley stayed with mom & dad.  Haley was very excited to stay because R.J., Emily, Casey, & Uncle Kelley were coming up today.  Hunter had to come back for basketball & football practice.  But 2 sports were not enough so they went to hit baseballs after both practices.

When we passed the TN river we knew we were getting close.

This was a great trip.  I value the time that my family got to spend together. 

Embracing 40

So this year I turned 40.  I haven't figured out what all the fuss is about.  I am very happy with where I am in my life.  I have a wonderful husband, my kids are healthy,  I have an awesome family, really great friends, a job that I love, a nice place to live, a car that runs and I'm cancer free.  I couldn't ask for anything more.

My birthday celebrations began with a girls trip to Paint-a-piece with Suzy & Amanda.  This was a birthday gift from Suzy for me & Amanda.  (All 3 of our birthdays are within a month)

My actual birthday started with hugs & kisses from my 3 favorite people in the world.  Then it was on to school.

My room moms arrived with these beautiful roses, crown, & button to wear.  They brought me a yummy lunch, a gift card to get a pedicure, & cupcakes for my class.  I felt spoiled.

When I went to my car they had decorated my car.  I had to take the kids to the dentist and people were honking & waving.  A big rig almost gave me a heart attack.

Missy Robertson from Duck Dynasty tweeted me Happy Birthday.   I was super excited!

I went and got a pedicure & ended up with a manicure too because it was free for my birthday.

For dinner we went to Mezcal to celebrate.

I have the best parents in the world.  I am so thankful for everything they do for me, my siblings, & for all their grandkids.

On Saturday Rob & I went to dinner & a movie.  We had a great night.  When we got home I found the house full of family & friends.  I don't have many pics because I am usually the one taking pics & I was busy enjoying everyone.  I will add a few party pics when mom puts them on her computer.

I am very blessed & thank God for my blessings daily!  I am thankful he has given me 40 great years and look forward to what he has planned  for my future.
